New: 12 courses for working with children and young people

Pheon Academy now offers a dedicated Working with Children and Young People collection. These 12 courses support everyday staff practice in England's children's homes and supported accommodation for 16- and 17-year-olds.

Each course includes narrated lessons, realistic scenarios, knowledge checks and a final assessment, with a free digital certificate and transcript on successful completion. The eight foundation courses are Professional CPD Standards Level 2 Certificates; the four therapeutic-practice courses are Level 3 Certificates.

Teaching draws on Department for Education guidance, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and relevant NICE and trauma-informed practice guidance. The therapeutic courses focus on safe everyday relationships, understanding distress and supportive responses, not delivering clinical therapy.

Managers can assign individual courses or select a group of courses for their team in Runway. They support local induction and role-specific development; they do not replace residential childcare qualifications. Included in provider subscriptions and Lifetime Individual Membership, with no extra course fee.
