You suggested it. We built it: seven new care courses

Thank you to the professionals who shared ideas and challenged us to make the library more useful. Seven new courses are now available, alongside improvements to two existing courses.

NEW LEVEL 2 CERTIFICATES Ligature Awareness and Safer Support for Young People Care and Placement Planning: Care Orders and Everyday Responsibilities Safeguarding Children with Disabilities: Recognising Harm and Enabling a Voice Restorative Practice in Children's Care: Accountability, Repair and Relationships Legionella Awareness and Water Safety in Care Settings

NEW LEVEL 3 CERTIFICATES Regulation 40: Serious Event Notifications in Children's Homes Psychologically Informed Environments: Safer Spaces and Relationships for Young People

We have also strengthened Developmental and Relational Trauma with explicit Adverse Childhood Experiences teaching, and Child Criminal Exploitation and County Lines with clearer coverage of extra-familial harm, contextual safeguarding and coercive control. These are improvements to existing courses, not duplicates.

All seven new courses are approved by Professional CPD Standards and include narrated lessons, practical scenarios, knowledge checks, a final assessment and free digital certificates and transcripts. The updated courses retain their existing CPD levels.

Six additions are in our dedicated Children & Young People collection. Legionella is in Core Training, supporting everyday water safety across care settings. Managers can assign learning to selected staff or their whole team. Individual members can also access the new courses.

Pheon Academy now offers 277 courses and training programmes across social care, including NHS learning and the Care Certificate. New Academy courses are included in existing memberships with no additional course fee.
