Two new courses for compassionate end-of-life care
Practical learning for care workers supporting someone with dementia at the end of life, or caring for someone in their last days at home.
Two new specialist courses are now available in Core Training: Dementia at the End of Life and Supporting Someone in the Last Days of Life at Home.
Each one-hour course includes four narrated lessons, realistic care situations, knowledge checks and a final assessment. Both are approved by Professional CPD Standards as Level 2 Certificates, with free digital completion certificates and transcripts.
Dementia at the End of Life explores noticing changes when communication is difficult, responding to discomfort, supporting eating and drinking, and keeping the person central when families and professionals need to make decisions.
Supporting Someone in the Last Days of Life at Home focuses on preparation for visits, comfort, changes in symptoms, getting help out of hours and supporting the household. It explains the care worker's role without teaching clinical procedures.
These courses build on our existing end-of-life and dementia learning. Managers can assign either course to selected staff or their whole team. Both are included in existing provider subscriptions and Lifetime Individual Membership.
