New: Introduction to Working in a Care Home - for the whole team
Good care depends on more than the care team. Our new Level 2 course welcomes kitchen, housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, grounds and reception staff to care-home work.
The cook who notices a resident is unusually quiet. The cleaner who listens when someone is worried. The maintenance worker who protects privacy before entering a bedroom. Every member of a care-home team makes a difference.
Introduction to Working in a Care Home is now available in Pheon Academy Core Training. It is designed for the whole team, including colleagues who do not deliver personal care.
Six practical lessons cover working in someone's home; respectful communication; everyday safety and hygiene; recognising and reporting concerns; professional boundaries; and working as one team. Examples come from kitchens, housekeeping, laundry, reception, maintenance and grounds work.
The course is a Professional CPD Standards Level 2 Certificate with narration, realistic scenarios, knowledge checks, a final assessment and a free digital certificate and transcript on successful completion. Allow around one hour for the learning and activities.
Teaching is mapped to relevant CQC requirements and primary guidance from NICE, HSE, DHSC and the updated Dementia Training Standards Framework. It supports the employer's local induction and role-specific training.
Managers can assign it to selected colleagues or their whole team through Runway. It is included in provider subscriptions and Lifetime Individual Membership, with no extra course fee.
